Hello!

My name is Christina Cox.

I am an award-winning journalist and aspiring public relations professional passionate about creating innovative work that informs communities I serve. My specialties include strategic communications planning, news writing, digital analytics, business research and media relations.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and am pursuing my master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University.

Currently I work as a staff writer for the Acorn Newspaper in Southern California where I report on various topics such as education, politics, crime and business. In this role I also manage the paper’s social media accounts and help design each edition of the publication.

Through my career in journalism, I discovered my interest in the education field as I worked alongside school administrators to share students’ stories and promote district-wide initiatives. I hope to combine my passions for community engagement and communications as a media or public relations professional for a school district, college or university.
